Speed problems with 414mkII

Hi. were having some problems getting a decent speed recording. We hear our levels fine and at decent speeds but when we record then playback, it is slower. We played aroud with the pitch control and it did nothing. we played it back out other devices and it still was slower. any help would be appreciated
