...would I do good to record my various, still in development songs, and register what I've already created, until I'm actually able to record my first album of complete songs? I got to wondering about this, as I was replying to one of the copyright threads in the Marketing/Publicity forum. Or should I just continue to remind myself to not play any original stuff, when I'm test driving guitars at the music stores?

you should register what you have already created.......and you can register a collection of works for the same price as one. As for playing originals while test driving.....most people don't pay any attention to the tune you play....just how the guitar sounds and how well you are playing!

What he said.

As far as worrying about someone copying some riff you play in a guitar store..... don't. That's crazy. You can't copyright cords or guitar licks.
