Hi

I changed my home studio around today, and turned on my gear in excitement! However, my speakers both spat out a distorted version of what my computer was playing, even though my mixer's outputs were turned down.
In fact, even when my speakers are turned off, the horn is still playing a quiet, distorted version of the signal.

I have all the gear coming from one power source, and have checked my leads which all seem fine. I've not had this problem with the same gear before
I moved things around.

I think it's some sort of mismatch between my DAW and the mixer, as when I plug other devices into my mixer, (mic, or CD player) the problem doesn't occur, just with my soundcard's output. The soundcard is a LYNXone, and normally runs perfect.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

OK, how is all this hooked up? PC-->mixer-->powered speakers? If you are running the soundcard line out into a mic input of the mixer, it is not expecting that hot of a signal so you are clipping the mixer.

But that doesn't quite fit all of your symptoms, so please give us more details on the signal path, including models of equipment you are using.
