I keep trying to post the bass-ed up versions of these songs here, but the uploader keeps giving me error messages. I've posted them to another forum, but I'm not sure about the etiquette of posting a link to another forum site. Hopefully I can post the updated mixes here soon.

@Dude - Let me know how the sheet of rubber works.

@PDP - I also like to test my music on a variety of sources. Thanks for the tip.

its too overcompressed for my taste. the mixing goes too much over the midrange - thats a dance tune, but where is the bass? try to mix it more for the club & let it breathe a little bit more & remove 1-2dB on limiter-side (it will be still loud enough).

@karumba - Thanks for the tips. See my previous post as to where the bass is. Can I ask for something a little more concrete than, "let it breathe"? - Cheers!

... I would have assumed you were talking about the limiting, but you mentioned that separately. Thanks again, karumba!

It's an excellent dance song - love the arrangement and writing. Vocals are super. ( Late night lover) It is extremely loud. I can see why karumba says reduce the compression. I can't increase voume past 1 without being over loud.

it will breathe a lot more if you don't limit that much. 2dB less would have a large impact & maybe you could boost the low-end by 1 or 2 dB instead (but after reading your other post, it seems you have a version with more bass). maybe i would make it breathe also more in the mix, since i find it too "static". some slight sidechain compression on the synths with the bassdrum as trigger could help here.

ok, i like magnetic without bass-increase more. for "latenight lover" i think its too much now, the bass is too dominating. the bassdrum should be louder. try sidechain-compression of the bass with bassdrum as trigger.

Thanks for the surrogate ears, karumba. It's tough to hear properly with my current monitor set up, so I appreciate your time and your thoughts. I picked up these monitors because I heard that, "If it sounds good on the HS-50's, it sounds good on anything". I should have bought the matching sub.
