Hey Slack, first off this is definitely not meant to offend...

This just isn't my cup of tea as far as what I would personally listen to. That being said, I wasn't forced to turn any of it off. The sounds used were very interesting and some of the panning was pretty cool. Nothing stood out as weird in the mixes from my perspective. :)

Is this a relation of yours? Sorry if that's an incredibly stupid question. :o
 
Oh it's my step daughter. I posted one of her experiments many months ago under a similar subject.

Yeah, it's not normal "music", but I just think it's fantastic. Very creative use of sounds, and she keeps it interesting. Works magic with a little mp3 recorder and fruity loops :)

Voyages to the nth dimension..............

A unique experience to another plane. Clearly recorded,superb use of panning which offers a strange yet visionary purpose of
creating audio "visuals" to the listener. Noticed several uses of
"reverse playback" which offered a ghostly effect to the projects.
I enjoyed them,which was enhanced by the brewski's I was indulging in!


Also makes for a great audio treat at Halloween parties!!!

I enjoyed 'em!!
 
Yeah Slackmaster. Great sounds. I can really appreciate them and track 4 and 5 I like best. there's where the rhythm comes in. Great!
 
Good stuff WAY ahead of its time.:D How old is she my friend? I always got a kick out of turning my son loose with a multi track when he was 10. It's a hoot listening to stuff your kids do.
 
Good stuff plastic phantom and mabye apex twin spring to mind.
It may be worth experimenting with more bass at times to really expand the range of frequency. Then again i'm listening on 4 dollar (new) rca speakers.:D

Yeah, some very nice sounds, and it had me listening and waiting to see what happened - that's pretty good, considering I'm a big fan of strong rhythm and rhyme.

I listened to Love of Vanity.

Here are some random impressions and thoughts:

* I'd like to use that wave-rolling-in sound on a song. A real song with real music. If you trust your daughter and me collaborating, get her in touch with me. That's exactly the sort of thing I'd like to have behind some of my music.

* I think the vocal could have been done better, despite the considerable masking of it with effect.

* It's okay to call it Love of Vanity, because that's a cool title and this is a cool track. But there's no obvious connection, right? Here's my point: you don't have to name your song something that connects with what people hear when they listen to it, but it helps. I mean, I heard something like this at the end:

"If/As I'm the only person who'll look back and look into my eyes, my self"

Well, that explains the title. But damn, who's gonna study the piece that hard, aside from me? LOL

In other words: redo the vocal, and make it slightly more intelligible.

I'm on my third run through. Nice piece. I love the sound. I'm getting used to it... :D
 
I don't think its so important to be as literal as Dobro sez,

I think its eerie & powerful, kind of reminds me of when I had an out of body experience.

Listened to Magical Crack House. It was pretty subdued, but with a name like that I expected something really loud and really fast :D.

Interesting to say the least. Nice clean recordings. Looks like she's having fun.
 
these songs were pretty demented, if I hadn't of read this topic first I wouldve expected this to be a compilation between charlie manson and jefferey dahmer, I can't really comment on how hard / how much skill it required to make these songs since fruity loops pretty much does everything for you, I dunno it wasn't horrible just freaky.
 
And just think. One day her generation is gonna run things.

I play in a band with my daughter so i can relate. It's a wonderful thing to be able to share music with your daughter and I know I don't need to tell you that you're very lucky.
Interesting choices of sounds and panning and well recorded.
I'd like to see it a little bit more rhythmic.....not less strange mind you, but just a wee bit more rhythmic content.

Don't know how old she is Slack, but that's one sophisticated girl you have there. I'd be astonished if you said she's not in college yet.

I'm a big fan of all types of electronic music. I had a huge musical awakening when I went to college and discovered composers like Varese, Subonick, Stockhausen, etc..... and of course I have to specially mention my all time favorite Gyorgy Ligeti. Is your daughter familiar with any of this music? If she isn't, well, that's simply amazing because it sounds as if she is!

I like them all, I think most especially "This Is Stupid". Great stuff, where can I get a disc? Seriously, I want one. I'm willing to trade.:D
