Well if you're going to do a lot of surfing around here, you might want to consider a chain mail suit over the wet suit. You might remember the Great White attack at Cannon Beach some years ago and then the one about 3 years ago at Gleneden Beach. However, both got away with all their body parts. The guy at Gleneden Beach had a perfect set of hemispherical teeth marks in his thigh, though; I forget how many, but it took a bunch of stitches to close up.

Happy Surfing!!

Tom

PS I'll go check out Brownell Sound soon. Thanks for the reference.

Hey Casey, I might take you up on another clip...let me double check and make sure it was in fact your clip that was funky and not my MXL.

Thanks! I'll get back to you.

Stay out of the food chain people!

Here's the surf report for today for San Francisco...

Friday 3-14-03 at 6:29 AM PST
Surf conditions are extremely poor and stormy this morning. Currently there are light rain and strong south winds at the coast. Wave heights are approximately 1.5-2X's overhead. It doesn't look like much of a surf day today.

It looks like this weekend could be 20-25 feet. Mavericks could be going off if the winds calm down...WAY too big for me.

Alan Hyatt,

Why isn't the information posted to this thread in the user documentation? I was this close to sending my clip back to you guys.

I've seen sharks on a couple occaisions at Gleneden, but never big'uns. Still scary though. Every boil in the water gives you the heebeejeebees. It starts to mess with your mind.

Go ahead and hit me back privately with your shipping info, if you like.

Looks like it may be blown out tomorrow morning. Hitide is at 6:57 for Santa Monica bay. I am hoping for an outflow pipe in El Segundo to start firing around nine, but it may be chopped out by then. I drive that stretch on the way to work and it was rough at 7:30 this morning.
I'm sure the hellmen are hoping for smooth takeoff's up at Mav's. Can you imagine being worked there? Yeek. If it can happen to Foo, how about you?

Happy Birthday Brent! (a little bird told me)
You're 29 (again). :)

Surf's supposed to be up here in Orange County too.
Gonna try to go out tomorrow morning-unless I have to sell a house instead.

Only had one shark encounter with a "man-eater".
It was a blue shark about 6 feet long when I was bodyboarding
at Tower 9 in Santa Monica during an electrical storm.
It brushed up against me and oddly enough I was out of the water ASAP! (very murky conditions)

One person I met knew a kneeboarder who was killed by a great white up at Asilomar Beach in the Carmel area.
Only found half the kneeboard with the tooth marks...

Chris

Thanks, Chessparov

Surf or sell a house, then? The classic dilemna...
You and I should paddle out sometime if you're down in O.C. We have a family casa down in Laguna and I ride Brooks St. and Salt Creek mostly when I'm down that way.
I'll have to remember to bring a kneeboarder, or two the next time I surf a sharky break. Thanks for the tip.

Best,

Sure thing Brent.
As you know, Brooks Street won't usually be happening until we get
some South swells. Salt Creek hasn't had any good sandbars forming
yet, perhaps with the rain it'll improve.

Plus your always welcome to come to my weekly vocal acapella chapter
meeting (on Monday evenings) if you'd like to sing along or listen.
There are always some very strong vocalists present.
AND we make great guinea pigs for any microphones you want to test
on us-I know because I do it (heh heh).

Will send you an e-mail via PMI with further contact info.

Chris

P.S. Bring Alan along, us older guys need the exercise more than you! :)

cominginsecond,

That was our fault. We did not want to wait for a new printing on the manual. That would have held up the shipments for another month, so we have amended it, and it is on all the new manuals.

Also a big Kudo's to the Kid for doing what he did. If your around on this thread kid, e-mail me at alan@pmiaudio.com...I have a "Free" B Series Shock Mount for you. Great job!

Alan, it's the little things you do for people (like above) that makes your company so great. Good job. :)

Yeah but can you hang ten when you paddle out with Brent and I
to catch some real tubes?

Chris

He could wave at you just before he splashes the two of you with his jet ski.

I hung ten in 1962 on my 9'8" Wardy with a can opener skeg. Hell, that board weighed 42 pounds! I was surfing before Brent was born! I don't surf cold water anymore, but when in Hawaii...that is another story.

Hey Alan,

Thank you very much for your kind offer - you're on! What a class act!

Best regards,
Kid
