Hello!!

I ran into a mint Sovtek Mig-50 on Ebay, and considered buying, everyone seems to think they sound good, and since I play a mesa V-twin as a preamp (distorted sounds), I kinda need only a simple tube-head to amplify it.
Dude at Ebay was asking some 300 BP for them, thats 450 Euros, even more dollars. ..adding shipping +60 euros.. I could get a used JCM800, or a couple of Valvekings..
Worth it?

Then again a friend of mine has a russian friend that hauls stuff from russia, and could bring one from russia if he finds one... for 300 or something.. Hmm...

those are actually pretty cool little amps... i wish i had bought acouple at cost when i was in the biz... but that doesnt sound like a good deal as deals go...

it seems that they have been going for more as the jcm 800 prices have gone up. i remember back in the late 90s when you could still get a jcm 800 for 400 bucks and the sovteks would go for just a couple hundred.

now it seems like the prices of the sovteks are getting to be more unless you are willing to wait a while for a deal.

Luckily I'm in no hurry. I can keep stalking in my own right time... It'll come.

Damn, if thats what people are paying for them I could make a pretty penny off my MIG-50 that I bought new for $250 in like 1995.

yeah but it wouldn't be making that much plus you would have a hard time replacing it with anything as good or better. personally if i were amp shopping i would pay around 400 for a mig 50. any less and i would jump on it right away. more and i'd shop around but still consider it

i have no idea if this is market price. just what i would be willing to pay for it.

i would imagine that the mig60 and mig100 would go for more. there are tons of those 50s floating around out there, but the 60 and 100 seem to be less common
