South...

It's been a few weeks since I wrote in the mp3 forum. I've been in the computers forum :D

The new song is called South. I named it after the scene in Interstate '76 when Groove had to gun down a water tower to make it fall into a ramp so he could jump a barricade to make it into New Mexico.

On the subject of mixing, this is all recorded at 16-bit and 44100 Hz.

It sounds quite different from one system to the next that I play it on, so sometimes the guitar is too harsh. Sometimes it's real nice & smooth. I have only played it on one system where the bass was too boomy, and that system had a subwoofer.

As usual, I'm struggling to come up with guitar parts to go with bass lines.

Nice playing. Some sounds are a bit thin, but that could be the 128k MP3.....Does a higher bitrate sound quite a bit better to you? The bass is not too boomy on my system, and it's a 5.1. Bass sounds very good here. To me, drums sound like they need some bottom end, and that might help cover some of the high end of the guitars.

Very nice tune though. Well played.
