Aaight... this is something that has been bothering me for a long time now... my question is, for other than on-location recording, what would be the purpose of multitracking on your DPS, if you're just going to load the separate tracks into your PC's multitracking program (such as Vegas)? Why not just record into VEGAS in the first place and bypass the DPS all together?

Just a thought... here is my current setup..

Akai DPS16
Akai MPC2000xl
Alesis M1 MKII's
Alesis NanoVerb
Alesis Sr16
Roland W30
Rode NT1
M-Audio Delta66
turntable w/ Gemini Mixer
Presonus BlueTube
Acid Pro 2.0
Vegas Pro 2.0
Goldwave

I only bought my DPS because of stability. My computer is old and I have had many problems with it, so I decided to get the DPS until I built myself a new power computer. But I'm wondering, what am I going to need the DPS for if I can just record into VEGAS? :(
