hi, what is the best window soundproof window option. all will be PVC windows from rehau or kommerling

Option A
10mm glass
Option B
9.52mm laminated glass (1.52mm PVB sandwiched by 4mm heat strengthened glass)
Option C
21mm clear glass w/ airspace (2x 6mm clear glass with 9mm airspace in between)
Option D
22mm glass w/ airespace (2x 5mm heat strengthened glass with 12mm argon gas in between)

Those all sound like heat-insulating windows, not sound insulating. For sound insulaiton you want two THICK pieces of glass in separate frames with rubber gasketing between them (with an airspace).

Yup.

I'll stress that I'm not an acoustic designer but I've hired/worked with them a number of times. "Soundproof" windows in my experience have been like mjbphotos describes, usually with a fairly wide (say six inch) air gap and usually with the glass panes at slight angles so they're not parallel.

The glass people should be able to give you sound figures for each option?

The bottom line is what the others have said, thick glass, separate frames in rubber, good sized air gap adds to the sound reduction.

Alan.

unfortunately i dont have much option in my area. from what i have shared, what will be the best option? thank you

None of them if you want 'soundproof' windows. Is this for a control room? SOundproof windws are not an 'off the shelf' item.

The options we suggested aren't for buying off the shelf (well, at least not unless you pay a lot to a specialist company) but, rather, something you can build yourself. There are various plans and instructional videos if you do some Googling (I'd look at several and combine the best ideas from each).

However, if you MUST buy something off the shelf, my instinct is to go for C or D...thicker glass with a larger airspace. However, these will in no way be "sound proof" in the conventional sense of the word.
