I have an 800 watt Sound Tech amp, (the one space jobber) that I use in my live PA rig. I am considering getting some 20/20's for my home studio but with the downers I've just read on Alesis and Sampson, I wanted to make sure the amp will be a good match for them. Has anyone here used this combo? Also, are there any drawbacks on the 20/20's I should know about before buying them? If so what else would you recommend?
Thanks, Darin.

Yo. Im not as well versed as many of the other members here on the topic of monitors, but I will say this. 800 watts is probably too powerful for some Event 20/20's. I dont know the specs of the Events, but im just thinkin u might want to tone it down some amp wise.

20/20's are powered!

Aren't the 20/20's powered (biamped). .. I us PS6's and
they are 70/30 bi-amped. You wouldn't want to plug those
into a power out stage of anything. (Line in only!!!)

The 20/20s are passive - the powered model is the 20/20bas

The passive model will handle 150W each. If your amp is more powerful than this, be really careful!
