Hi guys i have been making music for few years but all i have been doing is using my MIDI sounds from SBLIVE value and those midi sounds don`t sound like real instruments but rather electronic instruments... Anyone of you knows any software that has sounds of real instruments? i don`t need 1000's of sounds 50 of them would be great.. someone once told me about FM7 but when i checked it it has a lot of DANCE SYNTH sounds and i rather have NORMAL instruments..

Can anyone help me?? Thank you...

You know SB Live! has a SoundFont ability ? That's it... you can replace synth sound by loading SF2 files into your memory. (Check your Creative's AudioHQ). Easy yet powerfull enough...;)

It can also load every sound created to date for pretty much every Yamaha 4 or 6 operator FM synth (DX7,DX11,TX81Z,...). FM is very good for percussive/bell like sounds.

If you want just a better set of GM type sounds, find yourself a better SoundFont GM soundset or try something like Edirol's Virtual Sound Canvas.

The best solution IMO would be to just buy an external MIDI synth module like something from the Roland SC series or Yamaha MU series.

Newer synth modules like the Roland JV1010 ans XV2020 will also get the job done.
