At least it gives us lots of chance to argue amongst ourselves and subvert the thread for other purposes...

Maybe the reason some of them don't come back is because of all the arguing and the seeming ferociousness of it all. Maybe they look at that and think, damn, I'm not getting mauled by that lot D) and perhaps they feel intimidated because the arguers often know what they're talking about and the newbies don't necesarilly. It can make someone think that their question is really stupid or will be perceived to be so. Or if they don't understand something and argue back, they can't always sift out the lighthearted sarcasm and banter from the short tempered condescension.
Mind you, that maybe only applies to some. It can be somewhat irritating when a newcomer doesn't come back to let one know if the advice has helped or hindered. And then you get those ones that misunderstand the good intentions that are obvious to most others, that get plain nasty and strike before they're struck.
The answer to everything is.........17 !

I completely disagree.While playing a show on my birthday years ago a few guys got together and bought me shots.The Crown Royal was fine but the shot of 151 that was slipped in there was another story.

I wouldn't have drank that one if i knew it was 151.Been there,done that.
Long story short...after about an hour into the show they should've just sat me the *uck down!

It's like me saying:

It's impossible, with a healthy & sober mind, to completely forget something that plays/played a big role in your life, like learning to ride a bike or forget your own name.

And you saying:
I got really, REALLY drunk once and tried to ride a bike. Crashed into a tree, and couldn't even remember who I was when questioned by the cops.
