Hi guys!

I'm about to move my tower to the closet to try get rid of some of the noise leaking in my recordings. Now, I was thinking I could probably use some extra soundproofing inside the closet. It is fairly big and I won't have temperature or space problems but I don't have a clue about what kind of material I can use and how to use it. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Juan

One of the best things you can do is to just LEAVE the clothes hanging on the racks in the closet.

They will provide absorption.

Rockwool or rigid fiberglass is a good start.
Absorption products do absolutely nothing for sound transmission through boundary assemblies. He is asking how to beef up the sound transmission LOSS, and what materials to use. First, try it in the closet with nothing. If you can still hear it, then , since it will be in a closet, I'd build a box out of 3/4" MDF,lined with OC 703 and a hinged front, and some venting routes that have (2) 90 degree bends. Sit the box on a layer of 703 and VOILA! A computer "floating room within a room". That will do the trick.

Yeah, this is more the idea I was looking for. I'm quite wood working wood so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Thanks so much guys!
