I am using an M-audio Audiophile 2496 on my Dell P4 for recording. Mostly I use cakewalk sonar 2 and I record at 24/96.
However, the computer also has a Soundblaster Live card that came included. I have the SBLive set up for default windows sounds and other non-recording applications. It runs through the cheap computer speakers that were included with the computer.
The M-Audio is just for recording work and runs through different speakers.
My question is this. I have been using software soundfont players as DXis to play soundfonts. I now wonder if I would be better off using the soundfont player on the Cakewalk SBLive. However, I am not quite sure how to integrate this in my setup. I don't want all the soundfont samples coming out of a different speaker setup. Is it possible to route the output of the SBLive, i.e. the sountfonts, into the Audiophile somehow? Also, if I can do this, will the sampling rate be an issue, given that the Audiophile is working at 24/96 and I don't believe the SBLive will do this?
