Sounds like you have something interfereing with it, try this.
1. uninstall your SBlive drivers
2. empty your Windows\Temp folder (delete everything in it, including hidden files)
3. delete the Program Files\Creative folder
4. if you know how to use regedit, look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative Tech ... delete that. you can skip this if you don't want to mess with the registry.
5. reinstall your SBLive driver
that should also take care of your bomb sound problem, if it doesn't work, you may have a file conflict from another program or a virus, if all else fails, you may have to reformat your hard drive. and install only the programs you need. I don't know if you have any way to save your useful files.
