I have the option to buy a soundcraft Ghost 24le or maybe even a 32 channel or an amek tac scorpian 2, price is a little less for the soundcraft 24 le or a little more for the ghost 32.

I do remixes, band recordings mostly rock funk punk jazz blues golk and foley work.

Im looking for the best headroom preamp sound and eq quality and also routing to and from a motu 2408 or 24 inout what desk would you recommend and why?

My window of opportunity may be closing very shortly any quick advice would help greatly..

tanks!

Dude, this is the fourth thread you started in as many days looking to compare specific Soundcraft and Amek mixers. I think the lack of answers is attributable to the breadth of your questions, as you basically want someone to say one is better in all respects than another. That is rarely if ever going to be the case with mid- and high-level mixers, and personal preference usually comes down to which mixer will have all of the features you place priority upon and/or need to match your workflow and your existing studio equipment. Start by picking which mixer has the feature-set you want and then try out the mixer if you can and see if it works for you.

Im not looking for any opinion about routing at all. Im looking for someone who has had experience with either of the 2 comparable consoles and can speak to the sound characteristics and headroom of the mic pres and eq's when being used in a recording environment. If anyone has any useful information from real experience with either console that would be fantastic.

I guess I misunderstood given your original post above said you were looking for opinions on routing to and from a Motu 2408 or 24 input system. I gather you are not in a position to try the desks with some familiar equipment, which is what I would usually recommend or do if it were my money, so hopefully somebody else has some input for you.

Thanks, yes i apologize if my first post wast potentially vague, i am comparing desks that i dont have so i can decide which one to buy, these desks are far away and i dont have the chance to try them out first, i am providing info on my interface so someone who might have a similar setup could comment or have an opinion on how one desk might rought to and from better then the other, mainly i am just concerned about the eq quality and preamp quality as it is a concern because in this studio i dont have any external preamps or equ's to insert. Thanks for the link to the TAC info i have been convinced that the TAC ScORPION isnt for me, i dont have the time to do any mods right now and need a clean useable desk that sounds good and gets clients in the door and leaving happy. I still like the Ghost and am interested how it compares to a MIDAS 320 Venice's preamps & eq's?
