Soundcard???

I am using Adobe Audition 1.5
and the Tascam US-122 with a Creative
SB X-Fi Soundcard and with manual help cannot get it to record at a loud enough volume and isnt getting any live sound from the input.Any experts?

Why are you even bothering with the Soundblaster? The Tascam is a souncard. Interface=soundcard.
