Alright, Right now I'm running a mackie vlz 1202 pro into a soundblaster live via the tape outs/line in. Don't ask me why i'm not using the main outs. I think it's cause I've only got stereo rca to 1/8" cable, not stereo 1/4". Anyway- I'm very happy with the mixer but the soundcard is terrible. It's slow, noisy, and it can't do 24 bit. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I've got a sizable student loan with nothing to spend it on. I've been looking at m-audio cards but I don't know which one would be most appropriate for use with my mixer. Am I correct in assuming one of these fancy M-Audio cards would allow me to record each simultaneous input on a separate track? The most inputs I usually do at once is 5 or 6 for drums. Suggestions, ideas? Also, how would one go about interfacing one of these things with the mixer? Channel inserts? Sorry for all the novice questions, and thanks in advance.
