two cards in one go:

Creamware Pulsar RME Hammerfall digi 5296

1: (mechanical) both: yes
(soft): RME is easier, but neither is difficult

2: both: open pc, put in card, close pc

3: both: again, mechanicaly no
soft: a few installs before Pulsar was upto shape

4: of course, where would it go?

5: Pulsar: 1h
RME: 15min

6: both yes

7: Pulsar: yes, it is better than a Turtle Bitch Daytona
RME: pure digital, it does not "sound"

8: Pulsar: still learning after >1 year
RME: couple of days

9: Pulsar: couple of AES and a couple of XLR cables
RME: 2 opticals (supplied) + 2 extra
Why: to get sound in and out, why else?

10: a Creamware Pulsar and a RME Hammerfall digi5296

11: Creamware: this card is extremely sensitive of MB, other soft etc.
RME: no real problems

12: NO FOR BOTH: Support with Creamware and RME is lousy! Do not expect replies to your mail within a week.

It took RME 30 working days to reply to the simple question if there are known issues with my MB and their cards. The reply that came was more then useless.

If you mail Creamware, it takes time and all problems are due to other causes, never their products. Soft is buggy and updates slow.

You will have far more support from forums like this then from the manufacturer but as always, YMMV.

13: after 3 months, still trying to get a pc running.
