hi everyone

im interested in purchasing a soundcard, but have no idea where to start. What kind is good? do i need a sound card and an interface? do typical recording quality sound cards have a build in interface? what would be the best one i could get for under $300

i'm using a standard dell computer, 433 mhz, 312ram.....

Thanx for your help people

Since you said please.........

Check out the MAudio Delta Omni studio. It may be just a littlle more than $300, but it's really one of the best deals in that price range. I'm not sure what you mean by interface, but the Omni studio comes with an external box which contains preamps, and has inputs for instruments or mics like a mixer would. The software you install on your computer has the mixer functions for controlling the input signal. Check out their web site.

??? the omni

the omni might be under 300 used but not new. new they are $350-400.

The main question you have to answer before picking a sound card is how many simultanious inputs / outputs do you need? How many tracks will you be recording at one time?
