Soundcard/pre-amp choices

A Muse Zen
Got a case of the "I'd like to try something different" aka "gear lust" and sold my Delta 66, so now I'm looking for a new soundcard. Looked at the Q10 and some of the MOTU products, but they are just slightly out of price range....I record just me so alot of inputs would be nice but not crucial....mostly I'm just looking for good converters and pre-amps (maybe). I have a Mackie and their pre-amps are OK....here is what I'm looking at now:

A Delta 1010 and either use the Mackie pre's or maybe get a Joe Meek or something.

A Firewire 410 and either use its pre's or the Mackie or a Joe Meek.

A Layla 24 with the Mackie or Joe Meek pre's.

I have not gotten a chance to A/B any of these, so if any of you have tried them and have an opinion, let's hear it.

Just trying to best utilize the limited financial resources you know ;)

P.S.
I don't know if any of these choices will be better than the Delta I had...hope so!

Yeah, it looks good too....

I keep expanding my list instead of narrowing it down. Here is the new list:
MOTU 828 mkII
Aardvark DirectPro 24/96
Aardvark Q10
Echo Layla 24
M-Audio Delta 1010
M-Audio Firewire 410

Don't know that the quality of the 828mkII and Q10 are really worth the extra price.

Oh the humanity :(
