hey guys i have a question. im thinking about buy either a delta 44, delta 66, or a yamaha DS2416. I need soem help here. Which would work best with cubase VST 5.0 for PC and how does this work for stereo? i mean the delta 44 and 66 have 4 direct inputs that i believe only record in analog but i could so be wrong. I mean dont direct in's only record in analog? and is it true cubase records only in mono? how would i go about recording in 24 bit stereo? i need to get very high quality stuff...as of now i have a pod which takes care of all my guitar needs and i have plenty of software...waves native gold, cubase and even logic audio pro platinum (i got it all free, im the luckiest man on earth, seriously). Can someone tell what those damn rca input/output jacks are for, i dont know what to use them as!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! skaparty@aol.com

1. Hello. and welcome to this ite. :D

2.They all work with Cubase.

3. Delta 66 also has SPDIF IN/OUT

4. They are not RCA, they are 1/4".

...also, Cubase will record mono, stereo, or all 4 (or 6, or 8) at once. Look under "Multirecord" and VST Inputs.

i have the delta 44 and would highly suggest it.......it's a good, low noise card

ya

hey guys thanks for the replies i still have a few more questions...the 1/4 plugs ( i like to call em rca jacks...dont ask why) what are they for? i know they do stereo recording but how would you manage hooking up that plug? i mean do they hook up into PA's? mixers? can they be used as direct inputs for guitar? i sort of need to know if im going to by a yamaha DSP or the delta 66 because if i dont need this 1/4 thingy then ill just go with the delta 44...oh and with the delta 44, i believe it records analog...do i have to get a A/D convertor thing to make the sound into digital rather than an analog sound? thanks

I think you are confused. An rca looks like the cables you hook up consumer electronics with. 1/4" look like "old style" headphone plugs.

The 1/4 plugs on the 44's breakout box are the inputs for your instruments. You can hook direct or run thru a mixer then to the breakout box. If you dont have digital gear you will not use the spdif input connects, you will use the 1/4 analog input connects. The PCI card that comes with the 44 or any breakout box for that matter will do the conversion from analog to digital. The outputs will be converted back to analog unless you use the spdif output to connect to ADAT or other digital outboard gear.
