okay, so im thinking of buy an apple powerbook for college and recording purposes ( i mean come on, garage band, whats sweeter?) and i was just wondering, what could i use to actually start hooking some mics up and recording good quality stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

What's your budget? How many instruments/musicians do you need to record at once? And what is your definition of "good quality" (hobbyist, consumer, pro-sumer, pro, etc.)?
