Soundcard & Audio Interface Help

Hi I have around $250 to spend on a XLR Interface for myself I am a rapper and upgrading.What can you recommend, preferably from ebay if possible.

Also I own a i5 Toshiba Laptop with the current spec:
i5 CPU 2.27GHz
4GB Memory Ram
64 Bit Operating System
Windows 7
My soundcard is an Intel HD one.
However I gain the impression from recordings its not the best soundcard. Now I heard you can remove and take out soundcards for my model could I? How easily is it done and whats the costs for a good soundcard in correlation to record rap songs, editing, mastering etc? ebay links for products if possible or names so I can search?

Just for clarity, you don't actually remove your soundcard. You just replace it by connecting an external one. :D
 
My recommendation is to buy a shure SM58 mic plus a M-Audio fast track pro or the M-Audio fast track if you just need to record your voice. Both comes with Ableton Live Lite which is a good entry level DAW software to record and edit your songs.
