Soundcard advice please

Does anyone have any opinions about the Digi 001 compared to the delta 1010 and these other models?
Is it a good buy for the money?

I dont have any personal experience with the Digi001, but several friends of mine have had really bad experiences with the unit. That being said...I also have one friend here in Tulsa who uses it and loves it.

The C-Port, 1010, DigiDesign, and others, have the same AD/DA converters. Use price and the software package to help you decide. The audio quality should be the same for any of these units.

I researched all of these and chose the ST Audio. The only drawback so far is the SoundTrack 24 software. It's really geared for MIDI recording and has less functionality for handling audio recording. It's still not bad, and I've found workaround solutions for everything I want it to do.

I paid $400 and I'm going to buy another to handle 16 tracks shortly. I'll probably upgrade to the eLogic Platinum software, too.

c-port ad's are akm ak4524, 1010's are ak5383 (supposed to be better). 1010 also has better s/n but in the end an aural comparison like c9's says a lot.

You are lucky your US soundcards are so cheap in the US. In Oz a c-port costs around US$500 and a 1010 costs around US$1000!!!!!!!!!!
