soundblaster live value

I just recorded a couple songs using the SoundBlaster Live! (non-value) card. I went from a Roland VS-1680 digital out into the SoundBlaster card, and recorded and mastered the songs using Sound Forge 4.5

I was very pleased with the recordings - sure you may notice a difference, but most people who listen should like what they hear. It's not all about how much you spend, or if you have the "primo" quality stuff. I think it comes down to how you record the music. Spend time with each of the tracks, mix everything the best you can - spend your time with the quality of production. I've played the CD I burned on my computer using the above setup and everyone I played it for, enjoyed it and thought it sounded good.

Good luck - start by purchasing stuff in your budget. Work with it. Listen and learn.
