I just got an Alesis RA100 amp which I want to use to reference my recording work in Guitar Tracks Pro. I have a Soundblaster Live sound card. I was told in another forum to get an adapter which would consist of a 1/8" stereo plug to plug into my soundcard and then which would split to two RCA plugs in plug into the RA100.

I did this this morning and get no signal. In looking at the plug on the cheap Boston speakers that came with my Gateway computer, it looks like a 1/8" mono plug. All I can figure is that there is some difference with a digital jack/output on the soundcard which won't work with a stereo plug.

Anyone know how I can get a stereo signal to my RA100 out of a Soundblaster Live soundcard?

Thanks.

You can't plug a digital signal into a standard power amp and expect it to work... use the SB Live's analog Line Out.

I tried plugging in to each jack. Which color is typically the analog jack? I've got black, green (where current digital speakers plug in), red (microphone) and blue.

Thanks.

I found the answer to my own question. In the Soundblaster Live mixer there is a way to turn off the "digital only" speaker selection. When this is turned off, the 1/8" stereo analog plug works just fine.

Good.. I was just about to tell you where it was in relation to the other connectors but I was also going to refuse to crawl on the floor with a flashlight and figure out what color it was for you...
