Ok, my best friend since the age of 4yrs old decided he want's to buy a soundcard for some simple recording.
He doesn't want anything too expensive, so I looked around, and found 2 cards that interested him.

SoundBlaster Audigy 2
M-Audio Revolution 7.1

Now I found the BSA2 for $70.00 w/o the break out box
And the MAR7.1 for $99.99

From what I can see, both card's about about evenly matched.

But here is my question to you.

Are they both full duplex? If not which is?
Should he get the SBA2 for $70.00?

If you don't think he should get either, then list a soundcard thats $100.00 OR under.
He cannot save up anymore, and $100.00 is his limit.

Help!!!!

Be patient....someone may show up.

I'd imagine most here are using more pro type cards so you may have to wait a bit for a SoundBlaster person to see your post.

I'm about 99% sure that the Audigy is full duplex. Of course only 2 tracks though.

The Audigy is a good game card and (in my opinion) an OK card for doing some limited recording and playing arround with MP3s. It is not intended to be a "serious" audio card.

If your friend can scrape up a little more money he want to look at the Audiophile 2496. It lists at $150, but I have seen it at Guitar Center on sale for as low as $110

There are no Guitar Centers near us, so we need to buy online.
