Soundblaster 128 PCI Line In

Hi,
I just connected my Amp to my soundcard (SB 128 PCI), using Tape In, Tape Out on my Amp.
Tape In I connected to the Line Out on the soundcard and Tape Out I connected to the Line In on the soundcard.
I hoped I could record sound from my Amp (I have a CD-Player connected to it) on my Computer. But somehow it didn't work.
I didn't get any signal on the recording device on my Computer.
So I tried to connect the Amp to Mic In on the Soundcard. This time it worked, but the quality of sound was horrible.
Can anyone figure what I'm doing wrong? Is there anything in the settings I didn't configure right? Is there something with the jumpers?

The Line In is typically disabled by default after installation of these cards. Read this to learn how to enable it:
