If anyone is interested in what these mics and preamp sound like I just loaded a full song track I recorded on saturday onto this myspace page I recently created.
The guitar is a fender strat played through an epiphone valve jr amp, although it sounds like an acoustic. That is the track I used the EHX 12ayz mic pre with my Oktava Mk219.
The first half of the vocals on the track is done with an EV676 dynamic mic, or the "Jim Morrison mic".
The second half is a combination of 50% EV676 and the other half the stock Oktava MK219.
I had mentioned a while back I was experimenting double micing with a condensers and dynamic mics, so here is one of the results in a full song, "Creatures of Danger". It's a very bare track , just guitar and vocals.
