Is there any control panel software for the SoundMAX card? Can you check in it to make sure you don't have anything panned off centre. If there is nothing special with the SoundMAX card, check using the normal Windows multimedia stuff - just double-click on the speaker icon.... Check both recording and playback settings.

From your tracks screen shot, you should be selecting the input as being LEFT...SOUNDMAX => not stereo.

You current setup is recording a mono input signal - guitar, vox, etc onto a stereo track. So you are getting the signal entirely on the left channel. When you pan this to the right, you are hearing only the empty channel.

Set your input to be LEFT only, re-record a test track and see what you get.

:D Q.
