sound only coming out of one speaker during playback

why is my recording only coming through one of my two computer speakers when i play it back? It does the same thing in my headphones too; it only comes through one ear. Please help! Thanks and peace,

Most likely: Wrong type of plug connecting your outputs to the soundcard.
(do you have any type of adapter anywhere in the chain? You could have a mono something plugged into a stereo jack...)

Also possible that you have a bad card, but check the above first.

My chain is:

guitar -> Boss GT3 -> 1/4'' to 1/8'' adaptor -> sound card line in

I'm pretty sure that when I bought the adaptor it was a stereo adaptor

Is your source panned hard to one side?

My pan level is at -1. I'm not too sure of how to use the pan

Cubase doens't have neg/pos pan values.... center is <C> or 0, left or right pan values range from 0-64 R or L...
