I was wondering if anyone could tell me why when I record in my mic that's connected to a MobilePre USB preamp, i only hear it on the left side during recording and playback. I have a Shure SM58 hooked into the back of the preamp and a pair of headphones in the front of the preamp; also without the earphones I cant hear anything on the comp itself. Any solutions?

Because you're recording a single channel to a stereo track. Most tracks are recorded in mono. This is a common newbie mistake, and there are a ton of threads on the subject. Please try the search function.

Search For?

First, just saying thanks for replying and I wanna ask what exacly I'd put in the search box. Like what words? When you dont really know anything about recording, trying to ask questions isnt the easiest thing. lol

Thanx

In the software interface for the mobilepre, I believe there is an option to switch it to mono recording. This is the setting you need. Also, in your recording software, make sure you are recording to a mono track.
