I am a newbie to MR-8. I have a MAC G4 0S X. What is the easiest way to get the sound from the MR-8 into the computer? My way is to hook my digital camera to the monitor out and then capture the sound from the digital tape to Final Cut Pro 4. A tedious process but effective. There must be some better ways. I just don't understand the manual. Would playing the CF through a reader work? Any special reader?

Thank you all.

mac

you have to download wav manager from fostex, the mac version, any cf card reader will work that works on a mac, it isnt supposed to work hooking up throught the usb, but i have heard that it does, try it,

without using the wav manager, the tracks with punch ins will not come out right , you have to download the mr 8 files using the wav manager

I have a Mac G4 running OSX and System 9.2. It works. I do it all the time. Just connect the MR 8 to the Mac via USB and switch the MR 8 to USB mode. It will come up on your desktop as a remote volume. You can copy stuff onto your desktop or hard drive. You can also download and use Wave Manager from Fostex. This little application reads the MR 8 and lets you download or upload tracks. Any card reader will also work, but you don't need it. Just plug it in via USB.

correction

if you do any punching in at all, and you dont use wave manager, the files will not sinc up.....
