Sound forge 5.0 on Win 98?

Just got 5.0, and it says it requires window 98SE. Has anyone run it on regular win 98? Should I give it a shot???

Give it a shot. I run it on 98SE but what the hell. The worst that could happen is it won't run. I bet it will.

I've never heard of anything that would run on 98SE that would not run on 98.

Go to the microsoft website and you can download all the updates needed to run anything that calls for "SE"

A tech guy I work with said the updates will cover it.
I run acid on 98 with the updates with no problems.

I ran it on 98 that with all the updates installed with no problems. When i upgraded to XP it messed up the installation so I gotta reinstall it again.

Yeah, I pretty much consider reinstalling all of your software a given after changing to a new OS. I’ve never had any luck with OS "upgrades". It’s always better to just backup everything, format the drive, and start from scratch.
