sound degredation going from 2 1/4 to 1 1/4

If I use a double 1/4 (R & L) plug to single 1/4 plug off of a dj mixer going into my br1600 DRS or from a keyboard (R & L) into a single input on my br1600 DRS am I getting any kind of signal degredation?? Should I just run single 1/4" plugs from R & L into different channels in my DRS to make R & L???

Are you talking about connecting a Balanced 1/4" to unbalanced 1/4"? If so, you see a 6dB loss of signal level.....

Well, what I mean is that my DRS has a single 1/4 input for each channel, but my mixer and keyboard have a right and a left 1/4" output, if I use a cable that is (2) 1/4" plugs for right and left to (1) 1/4 plug and connect it into my DRS am I messing up the signal or stereo output??

Oh in that case, no - you won't mess anything up unless the the cable is a Y adapter and not a L/R channel splitter.

If the inputs on the recorder are stereo (which I doubt) then you are okay. Its most common to use two seperate cables for L/R.
