Hey yall,

On my last recording, everyone said the drums were too loud. As usual, you guys were right on.

Check out www.idrive.oom, gtmuse, Song for Jenny, see if you like the blend. You will spot the song. My daughter Jenny got speakers for her computer at work, so I sent her this.

Wow, the rhythm guitar riff reminds me of a section in "Stairway to Heaven". I still like your bass lines man. :)

Sorry about the cover, I just wanted to get opinion about the mix. No more covers after this.

Thanks

Oh, I do like the the tune. The bass could stand to be turned up a little though.

Hey Fishmed,

Thanks for listening. I don't have any proccesing yet. How would you proccess this mix? Thanks for your oppinion. By the way, the mix is a low rezolution mp3. Musicmatch finally came through with a free upgrade, glad I waited.

Your opinion is valued, Thanks.

Stairway to Heaven? Sounded like an Allman Bros. cover to me. Or am I confused?
How'd you record the guitars? The rhythm guitar could've used a doubled track (really doubled, not just copied) and the lead guitar could've used a tone with a bit more sustain.

Hey doc,

You got it, Elizibeth Reed, Allman Bros. Once again sorry for the cover. Just wanted to check my mix.

Iv'e had so many comments about my electric needing more than just direct in to the mixer, that I'm going to have to get some kind of proccessor before I send in another mp3. Saw a boss ME-30 in the paper for one fifty dollars. Or should I get a pod.

I know need a proccessor, would have gotten one sooner, but I'm a cheap bastard. All advice in this area appreciated.

Thanks

Doc,

Forgot to say, love your music, sounds like you play a mean everything. Do you also play the drums?

Well GT- if you don't have a way to mic an amp cabinet....
No amp- No decent pres, no mics, no place to play loud without causing trouble, then the POD is your tone solution. Sure, it isn't quite as cool as doing it for real, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper and much more reproducible. Don't know about the Boss ME-30 but there are many here who could attest to owning a closet full of squash boxes that just collect dust like Imelda's shoes. Being known as the type that still has the first two nickels they ever rubbed together, I was not disappointed with the bang for the buck I got with the POD. Sure the keyboard guy in my last band built his own sustain box for next to nothing and it worked pretty well, but it was really noisy and ate 9V batteries. If you can mic a real cabinet, give that a try first. That way you'll understand first hand how much easier it is doing it with the POD. Thanks for the kind comments. SHHHHHHH!
Don't let it get around-
I can only play the guitar.

Hey man, sorry it took me so long to respond. Sounds pretty good, but Doc was right, you should look into a Pod or something similiar. Or, just buy a 57 and mic your amp. I noticed some distortion toward the beginning. It wasn't too bad though. Nice playing on this tune. This is a cover tune? Hurry up and post some originals damn it! :)

Thanks for the advice, Cmiller, I have an old fender bassman. I think it needs new tubes, or caps or something. Sounds to noisy to use for recording. And as you know to get the tone that this song would want would probably bring the police.

That's it, I'm getting a pod!! You guys have been a great help, thanks.
