sound cards in laptops newbie question

OK, I just read a artical, ok more like an argument. Sample tank vs motif sounds...they were saying that some of sonik syth sounds are created from a motif...ok not gonna argue here cause I dont know... my questions is... one guy stated the reason some of the soft synths dont sound as good is because of cheap sound cards.... ok he mentioned rme, motu, apogee and high end digidesign sound cards as being upper end hence better sound quality.... Im using sample tank in a laptop and soon gonna upgrade my laptop....how do I get a better sound card in my laptop without paying big big bucks.

Im thinking about getting a i5 laptop around 699.00 2 gig hrtz.... how would I be able to get a better sound card in that? How much would it cost?

and finally anyone ever here of the sound card making the sample sound that much better?

You need to go for an external solution - audio interface
usb2 or firewire

usb 2 if the laptop is very fast
