Ok I've got a digital eight track, I've got Cubase and Cakewalk and I know how to use them (more or less)

The one thing I can't decide on is what sound card to get. I know this board is made up of lots of similar stuff already but I just need someone to set me straight.

I don't need one that makes you breakfast in the morning just something reasonably decent. I'd probably pay up to 300 quid or there abouts.

Enlighten me please....

And you should wonder about which sequenser to buy too...

em...ookaaay

Didn't think I needed one. I used a set up with the eight track, the software and a turtle beach card (not mine) and it seemed ok. What are people not telling me?

Doh! I was mis-reading your first post. Most people that has Cubase and Cakewalk don't know how to use them... ;) They are sequensers too, you know...

I would check out some of the cards by M-Audio. The Audiophile 2496 is great! :)
