I have not used it but, from what I've read so far, for recording purposes, it seems to be considered in the same range as a Soundblaster. It's not junk. To some people, it's all they need. It depends on what you're expecting to do with it. What type of recording are you looking to do? How many tracks? Plug-ins? SPDIF? Etc.

The turtle beach stuff is good.......Their web site sucks...good luck dealing with their tech's and locating new drivers on the web.

Turtle Beach

A while back i Purchaced a Montego II Plus sound card from Turtle Beach.

This card was set up for home recording with optical I/O and digital RCA I/O.

I have been very happy with this card. I went to this card to replace a sound blaster card that was crap.

I dont think Turtal Beach offers this card any more but if your card is anything like mine you should get some good sound quality out of it.

18 bit a/d converters make them 4 times as good as the best creative cards.

The santa cruize has 4 inputs If configured right, not to shabby for 69.00 US.

What up dog. I have the same card. i dig it. I'm not to happy with the support at TB

I agree. I think it is because they have swung heavy into gaming cards and givin up on specific home recording units.

According to some of the techies at Tech TV, Turtle Beach focused on gaming and playback for mulitmedia, which is supposedly why they don't concern themselves with driver issues for recording. They believe they have devolped the product satisfactorily for thier targeted market. HUH?!?!?

If you are getting good results with the card I would like to hear more about that. I believe there are many issues, besides which soundcard, that can effect the results you get. But poor quality and lousy drivers can not be compensated.

I would like to hear how it goes with that card.
