Sound card - what I've got vs. what I want

Current pc sound card (Addonics w/ Yamaha OPL3-SAx chip) does not support Sync-Rec-Play. Need an inexpensive one that does.
Suggestions?
Currently running SAW32 (overkill for my needs, but the price was right) for V/O work.

Never mind. Operator error. (Idiot!)

I believe any full duplex soundcard would work for your needs - (playback while recording, right?) Check in you control panel (if you're running Windows) under multimedia properties and see if there is a tab for enabling full duplex on the card you already have. Now, if you want pro quality sound - that's an entirely different story where cards are concerned. :)

Thanks, Jim. As I indicated. it was operator error. Card does work ... but, yeah, quality of card does make a difference. Economics keep me from running with the big dogs but I would like to get a quieter card. What I've noticed is that the current card apparently has some kind of "noise gate" on it. A damned "noisy" gate. It almost acts like an AGC in that I can hear it when it does it's thing.

I've been researching the web (CNET) and a few cards look interesting: in particular, the SIIG Soundwave Pro PCI. Have you heard of it - know anything about it?

Also, the TB Montego A3DX?

Heh, heh - sorry, didn't see the "nevermind" on your first post. Well, I looked at the Montego before I got my sblive - I needed a card w/ digital i/o - I don't remember if the Montego had one or not - I ended up w/ the live because I got it @ half the retail.
