I am new to the sight, I have looked around but have not seen my question anywhere. I have alot of music on albums that I want to transfer to CD. What would be a good soundcard to get to do record my albums. This is only for my use so I would prefer a reasonably priced card.

Any suggestions?

M-Audio Delta 2496- probably be suitable- has stereo rca inputs and a stereo digital ins- and the same outs- When you say albums are we talkin vinyl- 12" big black disc?- I think i read around here that a record player uses a different operating level than the typical cd or tape deck- sorry i cant help there- vinyl's a bit before my time- but something to look into-

btw- the 2496 can be had most places below $150- or you could alway run a rca to 1/8" stereo plug and run it right into yer garden variety soundblaster card and see if you get reasonable results before you drop the cash-

youll also need some type of software

If those albums are on vinyl, you'll also need a PHONO pre-amp that will provide extra boost and EQ.

I haven't dealt with these guys but they have a full kits with what you need:

Click on "Classic Audio To CD" and then "What Do I Need".. they have a full article there that will explain....
