I'm going to buy a brand new PC but I want to buy also a new soundcard.

At this moment I have:
PC PIII 500 Mhx/256 Sdram
MB MSI + VIA Chipest
2 HD (20GB each) 5400rpm
S.card Terratec very poor, but it works (I believe it is a SoloNP1)
Beheringer 1204 mixer
Joe Meex VMq1
Technics headphones
Alesis SR16 drum
SHURE Sm57 mic / 16A mic(condenser) + other cheap mics
Tokai delay + Zoom 9000 + footswitch+ Amp Tube Works TD-752
Strato USA+Kawai performer (unique!)+Ibanez 5strings Bass+
Nylon string Spanish guit (ampl.with Fishman piezo) + Ac.guit (EKO, Italy, 25 y.o.)

I'm looking for one of these:

Gina24(only used)
Midiman 1010 (only used)
in case I do not find these as used, I might go for:

minimum
audiophile 2496
Terratec DMX6 Fire

max:
Echo MIA
delta 44

Do you suggest one of these?
What kind of MB/Chipset would you reccomend?
Are there any evidences of incompatibility beytween one of these card and some MB/chipset?

thanks!

incompatabilities

I know there has been issues in the past with VIA chipsets and m-audio stuff.

In fact I had some real issues with my last computer (VIA chipset based compaq or all around POS) and a delta 66, I almost had to kill somebody.

The new computer consists of an Nvidia chipset based mobo...and the delta 66, and it runs peachy keen ;) .

From what I have read, most of those VIA issues are a thing of the past, so if you have an older computer, watch out!

(sorry I don't know specifics on your mobo)...your rig currently sounds a lot like the machine I just went through. It will work, but you will run into RAM issues as far as plugin/effects/multiple tracks are concerned pretty quick.

Good Luck!
