Fancy Rock N' Roll
Hi...
I'm looking for "musician" sound card in Indonesia. I need to know where they sell it. Most of them only sell "gamers" sound card. I'm looking for -not-too-expensive- one. Under US$100. Any body knows ? Tell me. I'll use it to record/play analog wav for vocals & guitars. I don't mind if MIDI & synth section are not too good, as long as the wave is great. I don't buy online. Cash only. Thank's.

Under $100, maybe a Soundblaster live? There must be somewhere in Indonesia that sells an SBlive? That is not a 'musician' card, it's more of a gamers card. I've heard some good recordings on it. If your looking for a more music oriented card, they start at around $200 or so for the m-audio products and go up from there.

What is it you want to accomplish? Maybe you already have a soundcard that will do the job. Any decent 2 channel card, with a decent noise floor should work for recording your vocals and guitar. If you want better sound, you have to increase your budget. You will need a preamp as well (and mic etc) what other equipment do you have now?

I think the 'gamer' cards your looking are probably SBLive!'s and such, which have a decent noise floor.

hello my friend,

are you indonesian? if so, you are the first indonesian I know in this board. :)

first, there's not "musician" card that's under US$100. cheapest maybe US$120 -130....

second, if indonesia is anything like malaysia, chances are you won't find any "musician" soundcard or it'll be TOO expensive!!! :)

maybe you can try singapore....

check out this site: hoontech

they are good, and pretty cheap....

if not, get a Soundblaster Live! first.. that's what I am using.... they are coming up with a new one, call Audigy... should be quite good but still not as good as a "musician" card.... :)

Uhm... You're right...
My budget is too low. I went to Singapore to find something I can use, they give me some over US$200, and they guaranteed, that I wont find any under 100. Okay, I'm using SB Live! now. I even plan to add mixer & better mic in my home studio. Mic I git now, it's Shure SM58 Beta. But Mixer ? I need some info for it. Which is better, Behringer or Soundcraft Spirit Folio ? Overall ? I only need 8-12 chanel compact device, to hook up my gear.

Korg N364 workstation
Korg O5R/w Sound Module
Alesis D4 Drum module.
Zoom 9000 Guitar MFX
Line out from my SBLive!
Two Headphones Philip.

That's all.

Thank's alot. I'm waiting for more Indonesian/Asian member here...
Thank's.

where in Indonesia are you? jarkata?

about mixer.... FYI, I am using a benringer 602a, very cheap and good for the price. of course if you're using a SB Live! you should get a mixer with good preamp. Behringer mixer's preamp are not that good....

The only reason for you to get a benringer is that you cannot afford other mixer (That's my case... :( )

if not, look into Mackie, soundcraft, Alesis.....

Thanks Leeking...
I live in Bandung. Paradise for Indonesian musician.
Many friends tell same comment about behringer. It's good. But when it comes to pre amp, they should do something better.
Mr. Gidman -other guys in this forum- just tell me about Mackie 1202. I see what I can get from it. I'm not looking for pro ones, since I consider my budget isn't that high... Anyway, thanks for your info...

PS. Anybody who knows about "Rock N Roll & Indonesia" topic can share their knowledge with me... Thanks...

Apa khabar James? :)

where is Bandung? in Jawa? why is it musician paradise?

mungkin kita bisa bilang sikit bahasa Indonesia ya? ;)

Hiiii, Leeking bisa bahasa melayu yah...
Bandung is nearest big city from Jakarta. About 150km. Its musician paradise, because a lot of Indonesian musician almost come from this city. Off course not all, but most of them. The weather is very cool, compared to Jakarta. The girls are so beutifull, charm & nice. Bandung has a lot of musician comunity. Jazz, Ethnic Sundanese, Rock, Hardcore, Pop, etc. We can say, 3 out of 5 home in Bandung must be ocupied by some body music related. And there must be a band for every 5 house. Hihihi...
It's a joke, anyway, how can you become a senior member in this forum ? may be someday I will be next to you, I hope...
Thanks...

I see... Indonesian are truly blessed with musical gifts and great voice. always impressed by singers from Indonesia in the Asia Bagus show. :)

Hope to know you more James! :)

About the senior member thing, don't really means much 'cept I have been "talking" more than you in this board. You'll be a senior member when you have 100 post (I think... )

have fun!
