i would like more sounds from computer into mixer
to get more control over my music
is there a way?

sorry if this is the wrong place
thank you

It's not clear what you are doing - please specify exactly what your equipment is. What sounds are in the computer that you are trying to get out separately? What DAW/software are you using?

Hi,
Ordinarily people work with a chosen number of inputs and stereo output.
The output wouldn't usually go through a mixer; it'd go straight to your amp/speakers.

Now, that's not to say no one ever takes multiple outputs from a DAW to a mixer, but usually they're 'live' mixing down to a stereo medium like tape or something.
The conventional home method is to mix in the computer/standalone recorder.

What are you goals, in layman's terms?

Ooo! Pretty sure you are in the right place Teapot! And very welcome you are too.

Yes, a general idea of what you are doing and want to do. Make and model of the mixer. Do you have "proper" monitors? And most of all, a budget!

Dave.

thanks for your help and good luck

Ok super.
You want to record however many tracks into the computer then pipe each of them out again for outboard mixing.
You just need an audio interface with an adequate number of outputs.

How may were you thinking? You'll be limited by the mixer.

Plenty of interfaces will have 8 line outputs. Some will also have adar output which, through use of more converters, allows you to use 16 outputs.

My motu 828mk2 does that, for example.
There are plenty of other options but a motu828 mk2 + a behringer ada8000 will give you 16 line outputs.

I'm sure other people will list some hardware that they use/know of.
