Sound card drivers and Mouse drivers

Does anyone know what driver files a mouse and a soundcard have in common? When I installed my Mia Midi soundcard drivers, my mouse stopped working. So I installed updated mouse drivers and it works now. Now I'm wondering what files the mouse drivers might have overwritten that my soundcard needs that might show up as subtle errors down the road.

I believe it's a resource conflict in your Plug-and-Play system. Although I don't have a Mia card my Delta 66 card has a troubleshooting section that describes what you're talking about but it's way beyond my understanding. I wish I could be more help.
