sound card and software.

I have 2 questions. What software should I get for my recording studio? Cakewalk home studio 2004 is only $150. And it has a lot of good features. Sonar is around $300. It has some more good features. Can i still have a good studio with Cakewalk Home studio? Or should do i need to get Sonar? Also is anyone using any soundcards that are around $150? I dont want to spend too much on a sound card, but I dont want anything thats real cheap.

I would go with Sonar if thats your 2 choices you've decided on. You may find that CWHS will not be enough after a while.
A card under $150 is not hard to find. The Audiophile 2496 is a great card in that price range. I would check ebay for a 2496, Delta 44, 66 or 1010.
