Sound card advice: SPDIF in ANALOG out!

Hello,

In a nut shell, I need a good sound card that offers SPDIF in and 2 analog outs for monitoring. No midi needed on the sound card. Already have that covered. I found the M-Audio DiO 2448 here:

Manufacture's page:

Currently I'm using a Delta 44, but my new mixer has SPDIF out so I want to utilize that now.

I ALSO need to be able to playback and record audio at the same time. The Delta 44 currently allows me to do this. (Using CakeWalk Pro Audio)

But jeez it is so CHEAP! Everything until now in my home studio was so damn expensive I thought I better see if I'm missing something with this one. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Consider this- the Midiman Flying Cow. I have one as my monitor D/A, and it also provides two more channels of A/D if I need it, just as a bonus.

It's not a card, it's a half-rack standalone box- and despite the name, it is a lot quieter than many of the cards, and a lot less expensive than some of the other standalone D/A options. Offers AES/EBU I/O as well, just in case you ever need it. Very quiet, very nice, *very* usable, good bang for the buck... Runs about $165 if you dig around. Works for me, anyway...
