sound blaster live inputs

i was told that the "line in" input was a better quality than the "mic" input. Is this true? any feedback is appreciated,

it is better to use the line in than the mic in...with theline in, you need an external preamp to bring the signal from the mic up to line level...Im assuming you are talking about whn using a mic?.....
